OUR STORY
In 1997, Strategic Resource Group (SRG) was conceptualized from a desire to mobilize like-minded high-capacity Christians who saw untapped potential for kingdom investment among regions of the world that were ripe for gospel harvest but had little to no Christian witness. While visiting one of these regions, our founder discovered indigenous-led ministries that were faithfully active but lacking in resources. From prior international ministry exposure and experience, he understood how the strategic mobilization of significant capital could go far in helping local ministries build up and strengthen Christ’s church.
He spent a decade praying, researching, traveling, and studying Christian stewardship and models for kingdom investment. Those insights led him to propose a transformative shift from traditional investment approaches: the creation of ministry funds–similar to mutual funds–managed by teams of experts in that region, country, or sector, so that stewards who wanted to financially invest in kingdom work could feel confident and equipped. Through sharing knowledge and expertise, SRG teams could deploy resources with due diligence, research, and reporting that no one person or charitable foundation could do on their own. Instead of taking a chance on one of dozens of potentially worthy ministry partners, an investor could trust a knowledgeable “kingdom investment advisor” to strategically direct resources in challenging places to the people and work that would yield the greatest impact.

In 2006, SRG stepped out in faith to build this new model of Christian philanthropy (the model it still uses today) and gathered partners and investors from around the globe at SRG’s inaugural summit. The goal of that first gathering was to secure a combined commitment of $30 million over three years, an outcome which SRG achieved within a year. Ten years later, SRG had invested over $100 million in hundreds of projects spanning 23 countries (supporting approximately 130 ministries). Twenty years after initial inception, SRG investors have given more than $300 million through 416 on-the-ground partners to see significantly more people in least-reached regions come to Christ and be discipled into a local body of believers.
